Product Support Technician

**Position**:Product Support Technician (R&D)** **Reports to: Senior Product Manager** The Product Support Technician is responsible to realize different performance tests on our abrasives and tooling products (removal rate, total removal, lifetime, etc.). Whether on new products, existing products or even competitive products, these technical tests must be conducted in a scientific manner using procedures already established. He is also responsible to assist Product Managers & Analysts by technical support to the sales teams when needed. **Responsibilities**: - Test products in a methodical, tidy and consistent manner: Use state of the art tools to test and evaluate the performance of current, future and competitor’s products. - Tests are to be conducted manually of robot assisted. - Complete detailed and specific testing reports as required and communicate the results to managers. - Manage the inventory of testing materials, place orders and store the materials when received. - Assist R&D team by providing technical support to the sales teams when needed. - Assist the R&D team with other related tasks when required. **Knowledge, skills and abilities**: - Bilingual (French and English). - Positive attitude - Excellent "hands on" abilities & good physical condition - Mechanically inclined, able to understand and use power tools and different types of equipment. - Accurate, meticulous, methodical, and focused on problem solving. - Ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy. - Good customer service skills - Good time management skills and ability prioritizing tasks. - Ability to work alone in a team environment. - Good knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). - Holds a valid driver's license. - Available for trips / local travel occasionally (± 2% of the time). **Experience and education**: - College Diploma a relevant technical field - Relevant working experience may be taken in consideration. - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial workplace. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Disability insurance - Employee assistance program - Employee stock purchase plan - Extended health care - Language training provided - Life insurance - On-site gym - On-site parking - Paid time off - RRSP match - Vision care Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday Supplemental pay types: - Bonus pay Work Location: In person
