Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this position, you will: - Provide advice, plan and lead Indigenous programs and initiatives - Promote understanding, co-operation and participation in the ministry's sustainable resource management programs with a focus on lands and resource allocation with communities and other users - Act as the ministry representative or advisor in resource and issue negotiation with Indigenous communities and associations - Prepare budget submissions and explore funding options as well as authorize and track expenditures for Indigenous and non-Indigenous programs and initiatives within communities - Assist in the development and delivery of community outreach initiatives to non-Indigenous communities **How do I qualify?**: **Mandatory**: - You possess a valid class G driver's license or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario. **Specialized Knowledge**: - You have knowledge of Indigenous cultures and related social and economic issues and opportunities in order to conduct informed consultations and engagement with Indigenous communities. - You understand community development principles, promote and assist in the planning of Indigenous training initiatives and economic development opportunities and provide advice on these matters. **Leadership and Relationship Management Skills**: - You have leadership skills to work with wide range of stakeholders with differing interests and cultures. - You possess conflict resolution and facilitation skills to negotiate and build consensus on resource management issues. - You are adept at developing and maintaining good relationships including those with stakeholders and Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. **Communication Skills**: - You have demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in order to provide direction, respond to inquiries and draft items such as briefing notes, reports, presentations and correspondence. **Research and Analytical Skills**: - You can conduct research and analyze information/data to respond to requests and concerns, recommend solutions and provide issues management support. **Additional Information**: **Address**: - 1 English Temporary, duration up to 9 months, 10 Campus Dr, Kemptville, East Region or 51 Heakes Ln, Kingston, East Region **Compensation Group**: - Ontario Public Service Employees Union- Understanding the job ad - definitions - **Schedule**: - 6**Category**: - Lands and Resources**Posted on**: - Friday, September 27, 2024**Note**: - The information that you provide for the purpose of this competition and the results from this competition may be used to fill other positions.
