Human Resources Development Specialist

Haakon Industries manufactures custom air handling equipment for laboratories, universities, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and countless other facilities across North America.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
Learning and Development
- Assessing learning and development needs for all levels of our team including skilled labourers, lead hands, supervisors, and managers
- Developing & implementing training programs, utilizing external and internal training resources
- Tracking and maintaining all training in HRIS software
- Collecting and analyzing feedback for training courses and experiences with a continuous improvement mindset
- Staying in tune with industry trends and current learning technologies
- Coordinating all aspects of training events
- Reporting to management

Human Resources
- Managing inquiries from employees in regards to HR policies and procedures
- Safety ambassador - work safe and ensure employees are following all safety guidelines
- Maintain and manage attendance management program
- Timesheet maintenance
- Support recruitment efforts - Pre-screening, job fairs, onboarding, etc.
- Backup to HR manager
- General HR duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree in human resources, adult education, business management or similar
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a human resources department or, more specifically, in the learning and development field
- Energetic and enthusiastic about learning & development and working in a collaborative environment
- Understanding of Ontario labour legislation
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Training certification is an asset
- Experience in the construction industry or manufacturing is an asset
- Strong strategic planning skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative and trainee-centric mindset
- Easily adapts to learning new technology
- Strong proponent of continuous change
- Self-motivated

Compensation
- Based on qualifications and experience
