**Core Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of full cycle Canadian and US payroll, including maintenance of employee records, calculation of commissions, and preparation of payroll-related accounting information.
- Responsible for administering time & attendance. This includes issuing time cards to new employees, maintaining accurate employee information, creating reoccurring schedules, and training supervisors and new employees on the system.
- Responsible for ensuring accuracy through account reconciliation of all payroll clearing and liability accounts.
- Respond to inquiries regarding payroll and benefits information, in a timely manner. Proactively communicate with all staff changes or updates to payroll or benefit information.
- Maintains personnel, payroll, and benefit files
- Oversee the benefits administration process, responsible for providing information to employees, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues that arise. This includes extended health benefits.
- Responsible for updating employee information including address, title, earnings, dependant information, etc with the benefit providers and in the payroll system.
- Responsible for calculating and processing profit share, the annual cost of living, or any special payments.
- Responsible for providing information to WorksafeBC for claims.
- Prepare employment verification letters as requested.
- Prepare Receiver General remittances, EHT, WCB remittances, RRSP/TFSA remittances
- Responsible for ensuring payroll compliance with Canadian and US laws.
- Responsible for year-end preparation of T4s, W4 (Everett), and T2200 forms.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- 2 - 5 years of full cycle Canadian payroll experience - US payroll experience is an asset but not required
- PCP Certification with mínimal completion of Level 2 is required
- A diploma or Degree relevant to payroll is an asset
- Experience using a payroll system, time and attendance, and HRIS systems is an asset
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills with the ability to multitask
- Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information
- Solid knowledge of employment and labor standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to provide a high level of customer service
- Able to work independently with limited supervision

**Experience**:
