**Payroll and Benefits Lead**
Position Responsibilities:
**Payroll**
- Complete the full payroll cycle, from onboarding Team Members, processing pay to offboarding
- Prepare and process regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay on a semi-monthly basis
- Process terminations and ensure compliance with Employment standards (ROE, Vacation pay, final pay cheques, etc.)
- Ensure all statutory tax and compliance requirements are met, which includes preparing payroll reports for WCB/labour standard inquiries, including quarterly WCB payments
- Compile, review, and monitor reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts. These reports include semi-monthly payroll reports, labour usage reports and staff counts.
- Respond to employees’ payroll inquires and requests in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain time-off records for club management staff
- Assists with Human Resources administrative duties
**Benefits**
- Process changes to benefits coverages including new enrollments, coverage changes and terminations
- Ensure staff eligibility and enrollment in the benefits plan each month
- Maintain and update employee personal information as needed
- Provide overview of the benefits plan and respond to any staff inquiries
- Reconcile monthly benefits bill
**Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes**:
- 2-3 years’ experience with Full-cycle Payroll processing
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate from the Canadian Payroll Association or working towards certification
- Clear understanding of BC Labour Standards
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate information clearly and concise both verbal and written
- High degree of confidentiality
