(Mat. Leave coverage until February with the possibility to work 3 days a week after). As the Recreation Manager you will use your high energy and out-going attitude to provide residents with endless excitement and promote a vibrant way of living. Internally we refer to this position as the “**Active Living Manager**”, as you will work closely with the management team to promote Independent Living on a holistic level for our residents. **What’s In For You?** Beyond the perks that come with working for the area’s leading community healthcare provider we offer: - Highest industry wage based on experience - Benefits, vacation, paid sick days, RRSP - Employee Recognition and Staff Appreciation Events - Meaningful Connections **You will be responsible for**: - Developing and offering a wide variety of exciting, holistic, recreational programs for our residents to support their emotional, physical, social and spiritual wellbeing; - Coordinating and enthusiastically leading resident outings and facilitate entertaining resident activities; - Coordinating a volunteer program, scheduling and managing employees and volunteers; - Preparing departmental budget and reports. **Active Living Manager Skills and Experience**: - High energy, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude; - Ability to facilitate fun Should be able to turn a dull situation into a fun activity or memorable moment; - Successful completion of recreation or therapeutic recreation diploma or degree program; - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working with seniors in a recreation function; - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted and diverse, team, work environment; - Empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families and the professionals engaged in their care; - Effective communication skills with the ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships; - First aid level c with CPR required" - Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate **About us**:The Gardens is a boutique retirement living the picturesque beauty of Qualicum Beach, surrounded by colourful gardens, a lagoon and in the heart of town with shopping, golfing, dining and beaches nearby.
