Assistant Manager, Finishing Line Manufacturing

**Required Skills & Experience**
- College or University education in related field
- Experience managing a production line in a fabrication environment
- Adequate knowledge of business and management strategies (budgeting, human resources, resource allocation, etc.)
- Proven track record of excellent customer service
- Solid relationship building and relationship maintenance experience
- Concise communicator who can work independently and within a team
- Meticulous organizer who continuously improves efficiency and effectiveness to achieve the right results
- LEAN Manufacturing experience is an asset
- Experience as a mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician would be an asset
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Oversee and provide direction and leadership to the value stream of a product or product line.
- Establish team member priorities and assignments.
- Increasing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Dedication to improving the process and quality every day.
- Ensuring that production schedules are maintained; delivery deadlines are not missed; standardized work is being followed with quality and safety requirements being achieved.
- Material/process flow is maintained, and inventory levels are monitored.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Develop and implement LEAN manufacturing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
- Prepare reporting information and attend the weekly Monday morning leadership communication meeting
- Lead daily morning huddle/Hansei meetings.
- Respond to any equipment stoppages. Coordinate any equipment repairs/stoppages with the maintenance department.
- Partner with the HR and Health & Safety to manage our people.
- Team member relations/performance, performing progressive discipline actions when necessary.
- Team member training and development - ensuring employees in the department have the appropriate qualifications/training to perform their duties.
- Maintain a positive attitude and culture within the work environment
