- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for road construction projects
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Utilize construction management software to create estimates and track project costs
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents to understand project scope and requirements
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather additional information as needed
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients in a timely manner
- Review subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing as necessary
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules
- Responsible for implementation of project tracking software
- Creation of critical path schedules for projects
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site meeting to represent company
- Project Handoff after estimating phase, coordinate creation of PO’s and Subcontracts for Subcontractors and Venders
- Bid Takeoffs, and field measurements for project estimates
- Examine and Analyze tender documents, input bid inquiries to various agencies
- Seek out new customers and new opportunities for business development
- Monitor job cost reports
- Ensure pre-job documentation is relayed to owner/consultants/field staff
- Work closely with site superintendents and project managers to ensure construction schedule and productions are met
- Liasson with owners and consultants regarding changes or site issues

- Diploma from n Ontario College in Civil Engineering m, C.E.T. or C Tech designation or working toward s one
- Proven experience as a Project Estimator with 5 years the civil construction industry
- Proficiency in using construction management software
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices
- Ability to analyze complex data and perform accurate calculations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and subcontractors
