The primary objective is for the incumbent to act as Environmental Scientist to contribute to project work and promote technical excellence in the Company, as well as to comply with the Company’s policies and practices on technical matters.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Project advisory to the engineering staff of Environmental jobs including conceptual design, fieldwork management, design analysis, production of design documentation.
- Assist in business development.
- Outline and assign work and provide guidance for technical accuracy and adequacy. Ensure that all project and proposal work is carried out in full compliance with corporate policies, administrative procedures, contract conditions and legal and ethical requirements.
- Planning, participating in and supporting environmental projects including coordination, preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports, monitoring project progress, project scheduling/resourcing and meeting deadlines and budgets to meet client requirements.
- Preparation reports such as site investigation, Phase I/ Phase II, RSC and Soil Management plans.
- Provide technical advice to management and operating departments.
- Devise and deliver practical and economical work solutions in office and site environments.
- Monitor and keep abreast of emerging technical developments, trends and innovations to increase the Company’s competitive advantage and meet current/future client requirements.
- Develop, provide and promote technical solutions, options and initiatives to meet client needs.
- Maintains ongoing communication, follow up and delivery against promise with clients.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor Engineering (Civil / Environmental) or Bachelor of Science (Geology) from a recognized University.
- Through knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- A good understanding of groundwater and soil sampling techniques, soil descriptions and terminology, and quality assurance / quality control is desired.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Environmental engineering in the fields of construction and environmental remediation including drilling, large scale excavations and other remedial field activities.
- Chartered Member of Professional Engineers of Ontario or Professional Geoscientists Ontario is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in Environmental investigations.
- Previous experience in core Environmental investigations and soil management.
- Experience in soil management will be highly regarded as would experience in senior review of proposals and technical reports.
- Committed to technical excellence.
- Valid driver’s license.

**Salary**: $20.00-$50.00 per hour
