Security Screening Supervisor

**Pay Rate**:$27.00/HR.

**Shift: Full Time: Sunday to Thursday 2300-0700hrs**

**Part Time: Friday and Saturday 2300-0700hrs**

**SUMMARY**
Maintains security and safety of people and property in assigned data center. Observes and reports activities and incidents. Duties will include supervising the use of wand and metal detectors, service enhancement, and training.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Conducts an inspection of all screening guards on their shifts to ensure personnel who are not meeting standards are either sent home or corrected.
- Assists as needed with confirming a replacement screening guard if the scheduled guard is unable to work.
- Collects the Shift Activity Report (SAR) before the end of the shift and reviews and signs off on the report once all items are complete.
- Follows the posting and relief process in section 7.6 to ensure personnel reporting for duty are
- Performs screening duties when necessary and provides relief breaks for other guards as needed.
- Prepares the shift posting assignments for all screening guards (day shift screening supervisor).
- Conducts ongoing screening guard training at the discretion of the responsible site manager, including on the job training for new hires, to ensure all guards demonstrate proficient SOP knowledge and proper screening technique.
- Evaluates, assesses, and analyzes performance of screening guards by conducting drills on SOP requirements and observing screening procedures.
- Conducts spot remediation training when improper techniques or verbal instruction are observed.
- Conducts foot patrols (for long periods of time or up to 12 miles of distance. It may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain) completing patrol checklists.
- Completes the Screening Supervisor SAR and submits it at the end of their shift.
- Cross-training will be provided for screening guard, enabling you to step in for screening guard coverage and offer relief breaks to guards, when required by operational needs.
- Performs other duties as directed by their management.
- Ensure compliance with all required screening procedures and policies.
- Perform function checks on walk through metal detector (WTMD) and handheld metal detector (HHMD) at the beginning of each shift.
- Maintain Screening Checkpoints in accordance with the Screening SOP.
- Ensure proper screening procedures and techniques are utilized as per the Screening SOP.
- Interact effectively across diverse cultures.
- Monitor traffic flow of checkpoints and recommend staffing adjustments as necessary.
- Follow proper chain of command and procedures for all matters which require escalation.
- Escalate issue and/or violations to the Shift Security Supervisor.
- Required to know, follow, and enforce safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Employees are required to notify superiors upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
- Ensure all functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representative.

**MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS**:

- Valid Security license.
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate.
- 1 year of security experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a reliable means of communication, such as cell phone.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
- Must have the legal right to work in Canada.
- Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
- Must have a high school diploma, secondary education equivalent, or GED.Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
