We are seeking experienced security guards to join our large team in North York, Richmond Hill, Etobicoke and Vaughan. We are looking for individuals with a high level of customer service and security experience and flexibility to work 24-40 hours per week as required. Work with experienced Security Personnel, CBSA Officers and Military personnel in securing a site specializing in AI infrastructure and data and be a part of a program that is growing by the day. Our site team believes in promotion from within and we are looking for candidates that are interested in growth opportunities into more senior roles. As our client continues to rapidly expand, growth opportunities will become available.
This posting is for an ongoing recruitment campaign for on call security positions and not an open FT or PT permanent vacancy. We are looking for individuals interested in permanent positions in the near future when they become available as our client continues to expand.

Position Overview
Wages: $26.25/hr

Responsibilities

• The functions listed describe the business purpose of this job. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. • The primary function of the screening guard is to ensure that only authorized equipment is allowed to enter or leave secure production areas in order to protect the data maintained inside. The screening guard reports to the assigned Shift Security Supervisor.
• Read, understand, and apply the latest version of the Security Operation Procedures (SOP), and other bulletins and communications with regards to the roles and responsibilities.
• Write, review and document Shift Activity Report (SAR).
• Conducts screening of all personnel entering or exiting a secure production area.
• Ensure compliance with all required screening procedures and policies.
• Identifies prohibited items and prevents them from being introduced or removed from a secure production area.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Security Supervisor.
• Inquire with persons being screened for feedback on the screening process.
• Perform function checks on walk through metal detector (WTMD) and handheld metal detector (HHMD) at the beginning of each shift.
• Maintain Screening Checkpoints in accordance with the Screening SOP.
• Ensure proper screening procedures and techniques are utilized as per the Screening SOP.
• Interact effectively across diverse cultures.
• Monitor traffic flow of checkpoints and recommend staffing adjustments as necessary.
• Follow proper chain of command and procedures for all matters which require escalation.
• Escalate issue and/or violations to the Shift Security Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• 3 years of security experience or 5 years of customer service experience with direct customer facing experience.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Ability to follow procedure and be detail oriented.
• Be able to work in an isolated and quiet environment.
• Access to your own vehicle is strongly preferred. Some sites are not bus accessible unless you walk 15-20 minutes from the stop.
• Flexible to travel to different locations for the client sites, sometimes within 1-2 hours' notice depending on your availability.
