Responsible for the planned schedule, including commercial requirements and operational restrictions to achieve corporate objectives of profitability, growth, and market position.
- Responsible for the total fleet deployment for Air Canada and all carriers flying on behalf of Air Canada, including maximizing fleet utilization in the schedule
- Design, evaluate, change, implement and manage the schedule, including all carriers flying on behalf of Air Canada and ad-hoc flying in an on-going changing commercial, competitive and operational environment
- Maximize Network requirements and optimize overall corporate requirements with the assets available throughout the schedule
- Responsible for the integration of both commercial and operational requirements and the decisions for any required trade-offs, including finding optimal solutions to unplanned changes to assets, maintenance, block time, Flight Ops crew limitations, etc. in the schedule while maintaining or exceeding the planned network profitability
- Ensure use of assets such as aircraft, facilities and slots are maximized and protected
- Identify high-cost drivers in the schedule and rectify through schedule re-work or adjustments
- Adjust capacity to satisfy demand and cost objectives on an on-going basis
- Provide recommendations and guidance to ensure proper integration of regional components in the schedule and negotiate with regional carriers when change is required
- Maintain optimized manpower requirements with all operational branches to minimize the cost of operating the schedule to the corporation
- Identify under-utilized assets and implement utilization improvement opportunities to generate incremental profitability in the schedule
- (as required) Responsible for the content of the future selling schedules sent to RES
- (as required) Act as scheduling contact for all charter and group requests originating from Network Planning and Charter teams
- (as required) Assist in slot portfolio management as required

**Qualifications**
- Post Secondary Education in a related field an asset
- Airline experience, including operational and commercial knowledge
- Experience with aircraft scheduling or similar scheduling experience
- Knowledge of scheduling/forecasting systems
- Initiative in identifying schedule opportunities and threats and implementing solutions
- Knowledge of airline financial and accounting concepts, such as variable and fixed cost, and cost accounting.
- Ability to rapidly grasp impacts of schedule modifications on overall network
- Logical and analytical skills, including the ability to question system outputs and to solve complex problems
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Communication skills including the ability to resolve conflicts
- Negotiation skills
Ability to function as member of a team and communicate effectively
