**Key Responsibilities**:
- Negotiating best prices and administering purchases with suppliers and vendors.
- Research potential vendors
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods.
- Source new products and replacement parts in an expedient manner.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels for operations and adjust re-order points to suite business requirements.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Proactively monitor and resolve potential material misses and track, expedite, critical orders
- Obtain materials, components and equipment as required by the production schedule.
- Responsible for resolving invoice discrepancies in conjunction with payables.
- Dealing with overseas vendors - evening availability periodically due to time zones
- Identify areas of cost reductions.
- Forecast future product requirements.
- Enforce quality requirements on vendors.
- Maintain and monitor progress of purchase orders including daily or weekly communication with suppliers to obtain purchase order status updates and take proactive actions to ensure that company quality and delivery requirements are achieved.
**Requirements**:
- 5 years experience in purchasing and inventory control, or relevant role in dealing with North American and International suppliers
- Post secondary diploma/degree is an asset.
- Electrical and/or instrumentation experience an asset
- Experience with strategic supply-chain activities such as supply planning, sourcing, contracts, and supplier performance management.
- Excellent computer skills
- Experience with Inventory software
- Ability to prioritize requests within multiple depts.
- Experience with the manufacturing of oil and gas products an asset
- Must be proficient in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to use solid judgement and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well in a team-oriented environment.
- Project management and leadership skills are strongly preferred.
- Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast paced and constantly evolving business environment.

**Salary**: $39,145.74-$73,861.41 per year
