**Job Summary**
If you thrive in dynamic environments where no two days are the same, the role of Sales Assistant in our vibrant Sales Yard is tailor-made for you. As a Sales Assistant, you'll be at the forefront of our outdoor sales operations, catering to the needs of wholesale customers such as landscape professionals and garden designers. Your pivotal role revolves around delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring each interaction is marked by efficiency, warmth, and professionalism.
As a Sales Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to expand your skill set significantly. Whether it's honing your knowledge of different plant varieties, mastering inventory management techniques, or refining your invoicing proficiency, each day presents a chance to learn something new. This role serves as an ideal entry point for individuals looking to deepen their understanding of gardening and horticulture while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a bustling sales setting.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provided exceptional customer service throughout the week, with occasional shifts on Saturdays during our busiest seasons from April to the end of June.
- Completing sales transactions with customers. This includes retrieving plants from various locations, loading orders into customers' vehicles, and handling invoicing and payment processing to ensure smooth transactions.
- Assisting with watering, pruning, and merchandising plants in holding areas. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that displays remain seasonally appropriate, well-kept, and visually appealing.
**Key Responsibilities Continued**
- Assisting customers and processing orders and/or quotations, accurately and efficiently sometimes within tight timeframes and offering alternatives for products that are currently out of stock.
- Check stock size and quality to uphold our commitment to meeting customer specifications and maintaining high standards.
**Job Requirements**
- Education
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Knowledge of the horticulture industry and basic plant identification is an asset, but not required.
- Experience
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Special Skills
- Fluent in English.
- **Must be able to lift 50 lbs. alone or team lift to 100 lbs.**
- Adhere to all safety procedures including the purchase of necessary safety footwear.
- **Must be able to work in an outdoor environment (rain or shine).**
- Holiday time will NOT be taken during mid-April thru to mid-June without approval from the senior sales manager.
- Must be able to interface with co-workers and customers in a professional manner.
