**Purchasing Coordinator** **Salary** $55,000-$65,000 per year. Includes a competitive health and dental benefits package. **Job Type** Full Time, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm **The Company** Established in 1944, Banner Carpets Ltd is respected throughout the flooring and design community for providing quality and unique flooring products. We are family owned and operate as a close team distributing high quality lines of residential and commercial carpets, area rugs and hardwood flooring. Our products are imported from around the world, through our "To the Trade" Showroom in Vancouver, our outside sales representatives, and Dealer network. **Job Summary** **Responsibilities and Duties** - Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all inventory, pricing, and incoming shipments are up to date and well organized. - Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business. - Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year. - Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses. - Ensure purchase orders were received and confirm expected ship dates and updating system, sales representative, and installer schedule accordingly. - Resolve errors and investigate claims on purchase orders as required. - Create release forms and ensuring they are received by warehouse staff or other third parties for pick ups **Qualifications and Skills** - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field. - Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Outlook. - 1+ years’ purchasing management experience. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Experience in the flooring or design industry is an asset. - RFMS software experience is an asset. - Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task. - Strong knowledge of supply chain management and logistics required. - Ability to develop effective inventory management policies required. - Team player with outstanding attention to detail and customer service. - Ability to work alone as a self-starter to manage responsibilities and govern oneself is key to succeeding in this role. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care - Vision care Ability to commute/relocate: - Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - purchasing: 1 year (preferred) **Language**: - English (required) Work Location: In person
