**Purchaser**

Our never-before-seen welding cobots require assistance with buying custom engineered parts for manufacturing and research and development (R&D). We are looking for a buyer to join our growing team and support the development of our cobots.

This position will provide you with an opportunity to work closely with the supply chain, engineering and customer support teams to create and build supplier relationships based on integrity, performance and securing the total lowest cost. Outstanding buyers are able to manage multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in fast-paced environments.

**Responsibilities**
- Create and build solid supplier relationships based on integrity
- Ensure a continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact to business operations.
- Procurement of goods, materials, components or services to achieve the delivery targets and quality while meeting internal specifications at the total lowest cost.
- Identify new or alternate sources of supply while maintaining alignment to long term supply strategy
- Work cross-functionally across the organization and with suppliers to solve any issues related to material supply, quality, price and any invoice discrepancies
- Review requisitions requests, prepare purchase orders and solicit bids for goods and services
- Interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes for new projects and initiatives
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present a risk or an opportunity for the organisation
- Monitor industry trends, supply constraints and initiate preventive measures to mitigate impacts and ensure supply meets demand
- Provide analysis on costs and develop cost reduction strategies
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement
- Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contract award process.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
- Previous experience working in a purchasing team preferably within a manufacturing environment sourcing and procurement of electronics, electromechanical assemblies, custom metalwork and consumables.
- Good knowledge of purchasing procedures, negotiation, commercial terms, import/export and cost analysis
- Experience with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as NetSuite would be beneficial
- Is self aware, self motivated, and optimistic
- Shows moral courage, openness and integrity in all dealings
- Enjoys a challenge and able to work well under pressure in a fast pace environment
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities
