The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of **Accounts Payable Technician**. This job is full-time permanent.
**Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
- Run the payment runs for all of the Domtar payables ($4 Billion US per year) daily/bi-weekly/weekly depending on the method of payment or vendor type.- Review and analyze the exception report ensuring invoices are paid in an efficient and timely manner.
- Communicate with the locations (14) advising them of any action required on their end to ensure that issues are resolved timely.
- Perform online payments for various vendors, such as taxes, WSIB, customs, duties, etc.- Generate daily ACH, weekly checks and supporting reports.- Resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.- Execute daily reconciliation of payments vs bank report.- Responsible for supporting all the locations (14) with all the payment inquiries, outstanding invoices, etc.- Respond appropriately to vendor inquiries by reconciling and analyzing payments.- Participate in periodic inventory count for checks and envelopes. Ensure proper replenishment.- Perform DAS (Deductions at Source) reconciliation using information provided by the payroll team. Follow- Revenu Quebec Payment schedule and ensure Strick guidelines are followed.- Perform government payment online.- Run report of all the taxable benefits and provide to the payroll team on the 15th of every month.- Perform back-up duties for audit of the Travel & Expense expenses for the Domtar employees- Perform back-up duties for wire verification and SAP clearing of invoices.
**Key Skills**:
- Strong organizational skills with focus on accuracy.
- Strong analysis and reconciliation abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while being detail oriented
- Ability to multitask and complete work with high degree of accuracy and judgement
- Ability to identify errors and find missing paymentt
- Bilingual (written and spoken) in French and in English : This is required since as part of this function, you will have to intervene with customers, partners and/or our American subsidiaries on a recurring basis, both orally and in writing
**Professional Experience/Qualifications**:
- College degree in accounting.
- 5 years’ relevant experience in accounts payables processing.
- Knowledge of SAP is considered a very good asset.
- Good knowledge Microsoft Office Suite.
