**JOB POSTING**

First Choice Millwork (FCM) is a family-owned business with offices in SE Calgary with an immediate opening for a Machine Operator. FCM and its related company employ ~30 employees, providing commercial millwork to our clients. FCM strives to provide unparalleled and responsive service to our customers.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Set up, operate and maintain computer numerically controlled machine (CNC) and Edgebander.
- Set up, operate and maintain manual woodworking machines such as saws, routers, jointers, planers, pressing machines, shapers, drills and sanders.
- Cut, fit, and assemble parts to create high quality custom millwork.
- Ensure cut quality is within tolerance by use of quality assurance devices and if required, make necessary adjustments.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and assist in finding creative solutions to any problems
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout the entire process.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years’ machine operator experience with experience in a commercial millwork environment required (CNC experience preferred).
- Completion of secondary education (minimum high school diploma or equivalent).
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications, including parts labelling and organizing parts and pieces.
- Proficiency using an array of specialized power tools, machines, and hand tools.
- Practical knowledge of woodwork and safe work procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Forklift certification is a definite asset.
