**Job Summary**:
The Volunteer Coordinator, Summer position is a full-time, 8-week job that offers flexibility between June
including identifying the organization's volunteer needs, creating a volunteer database, and developing
policies and procedures for welcoming and integrating volunteers. They will also manage and coordinate
volunteers for an upcoming summer fundraising event and provide ongoing support to volunteers.

**Employment Type**:
Full-time (35 hours/week), hours typically between Monday - Friday. Some additional after hours or
weekend work may be required. This is an 8-week position with flexibility between June - August.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify the organization's need for volunteers based on our operations and services.
- Create a volunteer database.
- Develop policies and procedures for welcoming and integrating volunteers.
- Engage and retain current and past volunteers.
- Manage and coordinate volunteers for a summer fundraising event, including overseeing the

scheduling of volunteers and ensure that they are assigned to appropriate roles and shifts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for volunteers, answering any questions or concerns they may

have and providing ongoing support.
- Determine what the organization can offer future volunteers.
- Provide volunteer management support to all areas of YWCA Edmonton.
- Serve as liaison between volunteers and staff.
- Promote the volunteer program to gain community support.
- Develop and implement protocol for potential volunteers to ensure the best match between the

skills, qualifications and interests of the volunteers and the needs of the organization.
- Ensure volunteers are appropriately acknowledged for their service.
- Develop and implement a ‘feedback’ program for volunteers.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree strongly preferred.
- Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative and innovative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of databases and MS Office.
- Self-directed with the ability to take initiative.
- High level of professionalism and adherence to confidentiality.
- Passion for the mission and work of YWCA Edmonton.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Between 18 and 30 years of age.

**Compensation**:
$16/hour
