Halifax, Canada Metro Community Housing Association Full time

Metro Community Housing Association is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides support and residential services to persons who have experienced mental health difficulties.

We are looking for client focused Overnight Support worker (60 hours bi-weekly). This is a term position that is scheduled to conclude by November 30, 2025. Overnight Support Staff are responsible for providing supervision and support to clients as needed during the overnight hours. This position is ideal for college/university students as you can (other than two hours of active/awake hours) complete schoolwork or rest while earning extra income. Shifts are between 9:00pm to 7:00am.

You will be successful in this role if you are respectful to everyone you support and work with, put clients needs first, have a good sense of professional boundaries, possess good judgement, and have an innate ability to make people feel good.

**Education and Experience**

**Required**:

- Post-secondary education in human services or related field (completed or in-progress) **OR** 1-year equivalent experience in an RRW level position
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, online training)
- Completion of Core Competencies Preferred

**ASSET**:

- Work, volunteer, or lived experience in a care position/support capacity
- Understanding of mental health disorders and symptoms

**Abilities**
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to make appropriate decisions in time of client crisis or house emergencies
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Effective oral and written communication skills
