Indigenous Client Relations Liaison (Overnight Casual)Join to apply for the Indigenous Client Relations Liaison (Overnight Casual) role at Mi'kmaw Native Friendship CentreEmployment Opportunity: Indigenous Client Relations Liaison (Overnight Casual)Location: Halifax, NSSalary Range: $23.80 per hourEmployment Term: CasualReports To: Operations CoordinatorThe Diamond Bailey Healing Centre (DBHC) is a new facility developed and operated by the MNFC and is a response to the need within the Urban Indigenous Community for an Indigenous-led, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate facility.DBHC is looking for a number of casual Indigenous Client Relations Liaisons who will be responsible for working with the urban Indigenous clients at the Diamond Bailey Healing Centre to ensure that clients are receiving thorough wrap around supports throughout their healing journey.Key Responsibilities:Greet and direct all community members, visitors and general public to the Diamond Bailey Healing CentreAnswer all incoming calls, social media messages, and answer inquires whenever possible to aid community membersGeneral main administrative duties, such as; providing information and assistance to clients and those with general inquiries or referrals.Maintain the use of supplies, equipment and order new office supplies as neededKeep up to date client files, records and documentsEnter data in the MNFCs data base system, daily and ensure that the database and all client files are up-to-date.Ensure confidentially of all records and files, unless release of specific information is authorized by the Diamond Bailey ManagerClient Support:Direct complaints, inquiries, and requests from community members and clients to the appropriate coordinator, manager, or other departments.Work in collaboration with the Diamond Bailey Manager and Coordinators to ensure that every client is receiving an abundance of support in balancing their medicine wheels and having all of their needs met.Display a positive, enthusiastic attitude with clients to promote client participation and engagement.Establish working relationships and collaborative arrangements with the MNFC and DBHC department coordinators to meet the wholistic needs of Indigenous clients, in accordance with the teachings of the medicine wheel.Communications:Keep the communication boards up to date with relevant material, such as job postings, notices, newsletters, events.Post community events to social media.Qualifications:Diploma/ Certification in community social services, or a related field considered an asset.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with vulnerable populations; or adequate combinations of education and experience.Experience working with Indigenous communities and comprehensive cultural knowledge considered a valuable asset.Previous administrative and/or business management experience considered an asset.The Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all fair employment practices laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr
