**Position Description**:
The Surgical Wait Time Coordinator role is responsible for ensuring that data related to surgical wait time is accurately reported to the Ministry of Health through the Wait Time Information System (WTIS). WTIS is a mandatory reporting system that provides information to the provincial government to track the hospital’s ability to meet patients’ surgical needs.

**Here’s What You’ll Get To Do**:

- Validating all data prior to being posted on the Wait Time public website, including reconciliation of wait time data from the health information system with WTIS.
- Provide support regarding Wait Times to administrative staff within Perioperative Services
- Producing monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for management and/or physicians to review
- Act as an analytical support for administrative and data quality information needs for perioperative services management team.
- Assists in providing management with the appropriate tools, evidence, and knowledge to optimize effective administrative and clinical decision-making.
- Provide backup coverage as needed for the surgical booking coordinator
- Particiate in perioperative services projects as needed

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- University degree (preferably healthcare, business or information systems)
- 2+ years’ work experience.
- Previous experience working with databases
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, and other MS Office software
- Previous experience working within the health sector an asset
- Previous experience working with wait times data an asset
