**The Early Years Resource Creator - Culture Kit Program Educational Materials will**:

- Create educational resources for the program
- Collaborate with Elders, resource people, Cultural Educators and Knowledge Keepers to create manipulative materials and resources
- Design and create handmade toys and materials
- Source materials and resources
- Collaborate with the culture program team to provide trainings and workshops
- Create and adapt Indigenous resources reflective of the First Nations peoples of B.C.
- Work with the culture program team to create kits for distribution throughout B.C.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Knowledge of early childhood development and curriculum
- Experience working with children an asset
- Creative, resourceful and able to turn ideas into resources for the culture kits
- Computer skills in WORD. Skills in Adobe and/or Publisher an asset
- Artistic ability and creativity and crafting skills.
- Sewing skills required. Machine and/or hand sewing. Pattern making an asset.
- Awareness of First Nation cultures
- Able to research and source information
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Physically able to lift 50 lb totes

**Requirements**:

- Able to travel for research, consultations, workshops and trainings
- Able to attend conferences and events across B.C. as needed
- Able to present activities in classrooms when needed
- Valid drivers license and use of own vehicle required
- Criminal record check completed upon hiring

**Salary**: $30.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
