**Location: Hybrid - Kingston or the Greater Toronto Area**

Empire life is looking to hire a Business Analytics Consultant to join our Retail Operations team The Business Analytics Consultant collaborates with Retail Operations Management and Senior Management by developing and utilizing business intelligence and data analytics tools to guide decision-making and assist in identification of opportunities to improve Divisional profitability. The incumbent works under the broad supervision of the Lead Business Intelligence Developer.

**Hone your skills** - this is an opportunity that allows for you to grow your technical and functional skills.**What you’ll be working on**- Consult with senior management to assess business needs and business risk and conduct analysis to support the portfolio of strategic initiatives- Provide consultation and advice to senior management and business units on how to improve business goals by using sales, administrative, customer hub data with business intelligence and statistical tools to provide actionable insights and analysis- Extract, manipulate and analyze datasets from various data warehouse and other sources to provide key divisional metrics and insights for senior management- Develop and present various data models to enable senior management to understand advisor and customer behavior which drives loyalty and retention factors- Independently manage assignments in collaboration with other stakeholders.- Identify and, collaboratively, resolve problems associated with assigned tasks- Utilize project leadership skills in various divisional data-driven projects, including making recommendations to steering committee- Create, analyze and execute prototype scenarios and develop insights from operations’ data to integrate into pricing models and product development, present findings to senior management-
- Conduct research and analysis on specific industry topics for senior management- Develop and distribute accurate, complex reports to communicate findings in a clear concise manner to meet operational and divisional needs-
- Collaborate with management to improve reporting and ensure reliability, validity and integrity of the data used in management reporting and analysis- Collaborate with IT to maximize utilization of new technology in support of business unit objectives.- Identify, analyze and provide input into opportunities for quality, productivity and service improvement

**What we’re looking for you to have**:
- 5+ years relevant work experience within a business intelligence capacity and working knowledge with BI tools (e.g. Power BI,Tableau, Spotfire, Excel)- Advanced Knowledge of SQL, MSOffice Word, Excel and Access- Knowledge of the Insurance business: processes, systems, data sources, customers, products, channels, regulations, competition, industry trends- Well organized, with skills in project leadership (e.g. Agile, requirements gathering)- Ability to think logically, analyze and/or solve problems- Ability to work independently and/or as a team member- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships- Well-developed communication, negotiation, persuasion and/or presentation skills- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects- Completion of a university degree with courses in Economics, Mathematics or Statistics- A postgraduate degree in Business, Economics, Engineering is an asset**Beyond the salary**:
