Compensation and Benefits Manager

**The job involves**:
- Providing leadership, guidance, coaching, performance management, and resource planning for the compensation and benefits team
- Monitoring legislation and trends and communicate developments that potentially impact areas of responsibility
- Ensuring compensation and benefit practices meet the regulatory and legislative requirements
- Managing successful partnerships with external vendors, third party consultants and government agencies
- Administering compensation programs including analysis of salary data, forecasting, maintenance and monitoring of the compensation structure
- Participating in external compensation benchmarking including compensation surveys to ensure market competitiveness
- Maintaining the job evaluation system including the training and support of the Job Evaluation Committee
- Developing, analyzing and interpreting benefit analytics to identify trending and recommend cost containment strategies and changes to plan design elements
- Performing analysis and providing recommendations on total rewards, focusing on compensation, pension and benefit programs Providing analysis/costs and presenting a variety of information (e.g., benefit changes, pension costs, COLA impact, wage rate comparisons, etc.) for use in collective bargaining
- Extensive knowledge of Workday processes to ensure alignment with the organizational needs
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent
- CEBS, CCP or CHRP designation
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in compensation, benefits and pension administration
- Minimum of 3 years management experience
- Minimum 2 years Workday experience
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing innovative compensation programs
- Strong mathematical, analytical and critical thinking skills (dealing with numbers, complex calculations, formulas and costing). Advanced statistics and forecasting skills
- Superior attention to detail with an emphasis on data integrity
- Demonstrated ability in project management and successful implementation of change
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated research, planning and project management skills
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Advanced computer skills with Workday, Excel, Word, HRIS, PowerPoint
- Complex reporting skills (queries, formulas)
- Results-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Solid integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
