Provincial Coordinator, Dementia Supportive

**The Position**
Reporting to the Vice President, External Relations, the Provincial Coordinator, Dementia Supportive Communities (Provincial Coordinator) exists to connect different sectors with dementia-supportive strategies and initiatives in support of AS ABNT’s strategic and operational plans. This position will lead the development and execution of a provincial
- wide dementia supportive stakeholder strategy with awareness campaign(s). The goal is social change including stigma reduction, and the visible promotion of dementia
- supportive activities in communities. The project outcome will include demonstrable collaboration with organizations and businesses and integration with current AS ABNT activities in a coordinated and efficient manner.
This position is suitable for an individual who can think critically about how inter-connections and relationships can be leveraged to create opportunities for collaboration that will better support individuals living with dementia.
**This is a full-time term position until March 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension/ permanency.**
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Conducting social research to increase the quality of information provided to community and stakeholders that will support advocacy of social development initiatives
- Developing business cases and marketing to a variety of sectors for dementia supportive activities and change
- Developing education and resources based on stakeholder interest that will support the implementation of dementia supportive initiatives, including stigma campaign(s) and awareness
- Collaborating with internal service providers on the delivery of dementia supportive education and workshops
- Building new and innovative partnerships to effectively promote the campaign(s) and learning tools to: businesses, community partners, municipalities, community leagues, police forces, and diverse sectors
- Working with individual volunteers to promote and enhance campaign efforts.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in either social sciences, human ecology, or public health
- Minimum of two years of experience in project management and delivery
- Experience in community development
- Experience in marketing and resource creation
- Demonstrable knowledge of inclusion and accessibility
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience in in research and report writing
- Knowledge of dementia is an asset
- Ability to travel throughout the province occasionally
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Technical Skills Required: Microsoft office suite, Canva, Adobe Pro, budgeting, data collection and analysis.

**Working conditions**

- 35-hour workweek, inclusive of occasional evening and weekend work as community engagements require
