**The Opportunity**
The Métis Nation of Alberta is looking for a full time, Provincial Youth Project Coordinator, working under the Department of Youth Programs and Services. This role will assist with the development, coordination and implementation of Métis youth programs and services with the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA). These Provincial events include but are not limited to, Mental Health Summit, Youth and Seniors Gathering, culture camps, Alberta Métis Fest and more. We are looking for a motivated, confident, and driven individual who is passionate about Métis youth and has excellent analytical and writing skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the development of Métis specific program planning, development, and implementation.
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all Provincial events under the Department of Youth Programs and Services.
- Work to increase program accessibility for Métis youth across the province.
- Develop project guidelines, policies and procedures, and program evaluations.
- Develop and maintain templates and tools to guide programs.
- Conduct research and consult with key collaborators on project development.
- Assist with project design and preparation of communication plan.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Experience with event coordination and program development and implementation.
- Ability to produce professional documents, reports and presentations.
- An in-depth understanding of the Métis Nation of Alberta and Métis culture.
- Exceptional verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work individually and within a team setting.
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a diverse and fast paced environment.
- Culturally sensitive and compassionate.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including government, industry, service providers, and community.
- Recognized strength in leading and engaging teams and creating a culture that promotes development of individual and organizational capacity.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary baccalaureate degree in a related field required.
- Previous experience in working with grants and grant writing.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role of program planning/development/implementation.
- Reliable transportation as traveling throughout the region is required for this position.
- Able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Clear Child Intervention Record Check required.
