**Key Objective(s)**:
The Structural Assistant Level 1 is responsible for assisting the Structural and Welding department with all maintenance needs within the West Edmonton Mall World Waterpark.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- General painting duties, minor concrete maintenance repairs and light adhesive work.
- Spotting and reporting structural corrosion to Structural Inspector Supervisor and assisting as needed with repairs.
- Assisting with the maintenance of steel structures and supports through sanding, use of primer and top coats.
- Preforming maintenance on all water slides within the World Waterpark by cleaning and waxing of slides.
- Acting as a spotter during the movement of Forklift, MEWP’s and hoisting of equipment within the World Waterpark.
- Other responsibilities as required.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years-experience working in a general construction site. Previous experience assisting with structural, or welding is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability work independently and as a part of a team with the willingness to learn.
- Must be able to work at heights and able to lift and carry up to 23 kgs (50lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and great problem-solving skills are a definite asset.
- Previous experience with painting is an asset.

**Terms of employment**:

- This is a full-time position that is required from 5:00am to 1:30pm Monday through Friday.
- Ability to work in a hot and humid environment and in close proximity to water and chlorine.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
- This position has a starting wage of $18.50 an hour
