Learn more about the role Your Contribution Your main responsibilities Protostatix, a division of Englobe, is currently seeking Structural Engineers for our Edmonton office . We are also considering candidates for our Calgary office . Must be proficient in wood construction projects. Perform structural site investigations, inspections, reviews, gather data, and prepare technical reports, site review/inspection reports, and compliance letters. Describe existing structural conditions and provide engineering solutions through Structural Condition Assessments and engineering studies. Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and design of structural elements including concrete, steel, masonry, wood, light-gauge metal, and precast, adhering to the latest applicable building codes and standards. Manage and generate deliverables (drawings & specifications) for structural projects with accuracy and completeness. Manage projects to meet schedule and budget targets. Interact regularly with clients and contractors throughout project duration. Review designs and drawings from junior team members and engineers-in-training, providing mentorship and feedback. Review contractor submittals and shop drawings, developing design solutions and modifications as needed based on site conditions. Market our services to new and existing clients through business development initiatives. Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules. Your Profile What makes you unique Registered with the provincial professional engineering association (e.g., APEGA). Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. Experience in Wood Construction Projects. 5+ years of experience in structural design of buildings and components, including renovations and new structures. Extensive knowledge of Canadian building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (CSA, ACI, NBCC, etc.). Experience in project management and contract administration. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce detailed reports and specifications. Experience with structural analysis and modeling software such as ETABS, SAFE, SFRAME, etc. Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Alberta, including remote areas.
