Central Operations Specialist, Training

Company Introduction:
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Central Operations, the Central Operations Specialist is responsible to be the liaison between store operations and the team to communicate any new program or changes to be implemented in stores.
This position is responsible to all operations related training programs from designing, creating, updating, translating, amending &/or compiling training materials, tracking and keeping training records, to delivering Trainings, Training The-Trainer sessions. This position also needs to work with other internal and external parties on various projects as assigned by superior(s).
Major Responsibilities:
Liasson between store operations and Central Operations team
- Design and execute communication plan for new program, projects implementation
- Collect feedback from store operations teams including front staff and management team
- Analysis and bring up proposal for adjustment or further enhancement of any training program, process, or projects
Operation Training Programs
- Conduct training needs analysis periodically to ascertain departmental training needs; source, organize and conduct training sessions
- Collaborate with Operations Specialists, prepare curriculum for certification training programs
- Partner closely with Operations Specialists and Department Heads to work out new training materials for store level trainees and new general staff
- Follow up and ensure all training materials and schedule match training goals
- Organize and conduct internal instructor-led classes and e-Learning training courses; develop and design courses (both in-class and online courses)
- Design, launch and administer Post-course Survey to ascertain course participants; share and analyze survey results with relevant parties
- Keep abreast of new or useful training courses (classroom, on-line and webinars), make recommendations to the Superior and other relevant departments
Training Material Development and Control
- Ensure the training materials including are designed, created, updated, translated, amended and/or compiled in a timely manner
- Communicate with Specialists and Operations Training Managers to ensure store operation training programs, materials and other documentations are in formats and systems which aligned with company's requirement nationwide
- Enhance employees’ learning experience
Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior(s)
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
- Tertiary education qualification in Human Resources or other related background
- Possess at least 3 years’ experience in the Human Resources field with a focus on training and employee development
- Experience in cooperate training activities, experience in retail companies is an asset
- A self-learner with high motivation to engage in continuous learning and self-development opportunities
- Resourceful and technology savvy, able to source course providers and pick up new technology quickly
- Demonstrate strong ability to articulate ideas and to take a creative project from initial to final stages and to quickly react to changing priorities and needs
- Strong written and verbal communication and translation skills in both English and Chinese
- Advance level in MS office, Outlook, Office365 and eLearning software
- Integrity in handling multimedia files and respect the use of digital representation of other individuals
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
- Travel is required

5-day work week (Monday to Friday), 9:00am - 5:30pm
