**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education Essential**: 1. High School Diploma or Vocational equivalent.

2. Ability to communicate and comprehend both orally and written in English with employees and customers.

3. Ability to compute mathematical calculations.

**Desirable**: 1. Machinist Certificate

2. Graduate of a College or University Business Administration Program.

**Knowledge**: Essential: 1. A minimum of 3 years to 5 years of experience in a similar or related field and industry.

3. Extensive technical understanding of various automotive machine shop procedures.

4. Extensive knowledge of job costing and quoting.

**RESPONSIBILITIES associated with performing the job**:
1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies and procedures.

2. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with fire and health & safety policies & procedures.

3. Maintain and develop company and professional knowledge by attending training workshops, courses, trade shows and meetings as required.

4. Maintain confidentiality of company, team and employee information.

5. Ensure compliance with the communication policy and procedure i.e. voice mail, internet, etc.

7. Maintain a cohesive working relationship with team members, management and customers.

8. Maintain working knowledge of all related computer programs and technology that are used within the department.

10. Maintain working knowledge of the general maintenance and operation of the equipment in the machine shop.

11. Ensure that all equipment is maintained as per the preventative maintenance schedule. Ensure that all maintenance is documented. Update the preventative maintenance schedule as is necessary.

12. Assist in maintaining safe operating procedures for the operation of equipment and for all specified job duties.

13. Set-up and organize your individual work area with designated supplies, forms, resource materials, etc. and maintain organization and cleanliness at all times.

14. Co-ordinate and direct the maintenance and cleanliness of the machine shop.

15. Assist with hiring decisions for department team members.

16. Ensure that all department team members complete the requirements of the company’s orientation / training program.

17. Identify all training needs for the team members of the machine shop department. Present recommendations and proceed with registration and enrollment

18. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

19. Assist team members with lifting (approximately 100 pounds) as per standard organization lifting procedures. Always use material handling equipment to assist. (Overhead crane etc.)

20. Price all machine shop jobs based on job costing data and market conditions.

21. Update machine shop manual & price list annually or as required.

22. Ensure that all machine shop customers are dealt with in a timely, professional and courteous manner.

23. Maintain a neatly organized and accurate quote file for reference to future jobs.

29. Source and provide basic parts for all machine shop jobs as required, excluding special performance

30. Invoice completed jobs.

**31. Develop a program where you**: Send warranty papers and a customer satisfaction survey with each engine. Follow up on customer satisfaction surveys to ensure that they are completed and promptly address any customer dissatisfaction.

32. Handle warranty claims with our customer and supplier as required and document in the Warranty History File.
