**Accounts Payable Specialist (6 Month Contract)**

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a pivotal role within the payables function of the Maple Reinders Group and its affiliated companies. With a dedicated focus on delivering timely and precise job cost reporting, maintaining open lines of communication with Project Management personnel. The accounts payable specialist facilitates a streamlined exchange of crucial data, enabling informed decision-making. Moreover, the Specialist upholds principles of integrity and fairness in all supplier interactions, fostering a climate of trust and mutual benefit.

**The Accounts Payable Specialist assumes a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to**:

- Facilitate the matching of invoices with corresponding Purchase Orders (POs) and supporting documentation.
- Request approvals for invoices through our digital Portal, liaising with Division or Project Managers as needed.
- Review Accounts Payable (A/P) vouchers and Purchase Orders (POs) prepared by clerical personnel in Maple Reinders Divisional offices, including relevant supplier codes and ensuring compliance with P.O. balances and terms.
- Thoroughly validate invoices for accuracy in terms of price, quantity, and services billed.
- Collaborate with Site staff and Vendors to swiftly resolve any billing discrepancies that may arise.
- Capture applicable discounts where applicable to optimize cost savings.
- Professionally handle A/P phone inquiries, providing accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Process and review employee expense claims with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of supplier statements to pinpoint and rectify any account discrepancies.
- Administer the reconciliation and distribution of petty cash account activity for Maple Reinders Divisional offices, promptly replenishing accounts as needed.
- Undertake various other assigned tasks with diligence and a results-oriented approach.

**Qualifications**:

- Possess a post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business, providing a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.
- Accumulated two years of relevant experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial processes and procedures.
- Ability to use/learn industry-specific software programs such as Timberline.

**Pay Range: $22.00 / Hour - $26.00 / Hour (Depending on experience)**
