Are you driven to take the my Sun Life mobile app to a new level? We need someone who can accelerate our evolution of the client experience on our app across all lines of business at Sun Life.
This role will work to propose initiatives, define solutions and see them through to execution on our 4.5-star rated app, in order to help our clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.
**Role Summary**
Digital has emerged in the Client Experience Office (CXO) as an area of strategic differentiation. To help us achieve our business goals, it’s essential we strengthen and grow our digital client experience.
With a deep knowledge of all aspects of mobile apps and how it integrates with a company’s strategy, the Product Owner, Client Mobile Solutions, will be accountable for identifying functionality that will drive client engagement, and will lead our agile team by prioritizing enhancements and maintaining the backlog for our native mobile app across a range of business units.
**What will you do ?**
- Regularly connect with appropriate stakeholders to surface new opportunities in our changing digital environment
- Identify key functionality to improve client engagement and solve business problems on our native mobile app
- Successfully demonstrate root-cause analysis and prove your case through metrics
- Integrate usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure client-driven design
- Develop and leverage a keen understanding of the client journey, pain points, and moments of truth in order to inform and refine plans
- Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate the vision effectively to stakeholders, the team and the organization
- Ensure proper tagging and measurement throughout the app to understand usage and client behaviour to deliver a more engaging client experience
- Interact with various agile teams and PMO groups to ensure a good line of sight into digital work across multiple business areas and digital platforms
- Collaborate effectively to resolve challenges when business plans conflict with client priorities
- Prioritize and manage items in the backlog, and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
- Facilitate release planning with stakeholders and bi-weekly demos
**What will you need to succeed ?**
- Strong technical acumen and business knowledge as it supports the direction of the my Sun Life mobile app
- Ability to manage and lead an agile team to push an end solution forward
- Deep technical knowledge related to mobile apps and other digital platforms
- Strong background developing a product roadmap
- Ability to break down big problems into solvable pieces
- Experience articulating and presenting visions, thinking beyond current state and driving collaboration to formulate the future of our app
- A capable decision maker who can drive decisions with stakeholders from across the organization
- Ability to collaborate and make decisions effectively with Technical Leads and Scrum Masters
- Strong negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of digital capabilities, and strategic and architecturally-sound thinking
- Program management expertise in the form of tracking and monitoring multiple initiatives
- Sound understanding of the digital landscape, and the main business and technological trends influencing mobile apps and financial institutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain difficult concepts to different business and technical audiences
- Analytical skills required for evaluation of digital opportunities
- Self-motivated and adaptable to a variety of team settings
- Ability to balance competing priorities with common deadlines
- Able to empower others to fail, learn and grow
- Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with business partners
- Strong PC skills including experience in building presentations and value cases
**What will be nice to have?**
- Knowledge of Sun Life’s products, systems and competitors
- Understanding of Sun Life brand, market segments and clients
- Experience working in financial services or other technology firms, focused on client experience
- Bilingualism (French, English) required
