We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Onsite Technician to join our dynamic team. As an Onsite Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and resolving IT issues for our valued clients in the Kingston area. You will work directly with clients on-site, resolving issues and making recommendations to solve problems. This customer-facing role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot a wide range of technical problems.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- Visit client sites to provide on-site technical support, resolving IT issues promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct system installations, upgrades, and configurations according to client requirements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues, providing appropriate solutions.
- Make recommendations regarding hardware or software that will benefit the client.
- Perform regular maintenance and monitoring of client systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Assist clients with user management, access control, and password resets.
- Collaborate with the remote support team to escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Document all interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in our ticketing system.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- **Qualifications**:_
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Proven experience as an onsite technician or in a similar IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of the standard SMB technology stack, with a primary focus on Windows-based systems.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
- Knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, and Hyper-V
- Familiarity with SonicWALL, Watchguard, Ubiquiti equipment
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
