**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title**: Customs & Documentation Coordinator

**Department**: Customs

**Reporting to**: Customs Manager

**Subordinates**: NA

**Main Purpose of the Position**

To obtain, execute, control and administer all Canadian & US Customs related services and export documentation services for the Company.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Assure all customs & documentation operational excellence within their area of responsibility, such as, but not limited to:

- Controlling complete file administration for all file areas as directed by direct supervisor for the Company’s activities. Including, but not limited to, file opening, estimations, invoicing, closings and archiving, and accounts receivable.
- Issuing quotations and tariffs for Canadian & US Customs Brokerage.
- Developing and maintaining client, vendor and agent relationships.
- Always maintain the highest level of Customer Service, which includes; customer retention, customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Participate in the Company’s development of achieving better processes and workflows across all departments.
- Participate in the development of the company’s operational system(s).
- Define, optimize, implement and maintain standard operational processes in line with the Company’s operations and goals.
- You will have the ability to travel outside the greater Edmonton / Calgary Area which may include overnight stays in various locations.
- Directed internal & external sales and general customer development.
- Ensure a clean working environment is maintained throughout the office and your workplace.
- Other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned to you by Management at any given time.

**Requirements & Skills**

Functional requirements
- Operational know-how in Canadian & US Customs Brokerage Services for all modes of transport which shall include air, ocean and ground logistics.
- HS Coding know-how for Canadian and US exportation requirements (cross border and internationally).
- Operational know-how (Customer Service, Customs Handling for Export & Import,).
- Good business administration competence related to Customs & Documentation.

Management skills
- Able to manage cross-functional interfaces (marketing & sales, freigt, accounting and management).
- Good planning skills.
- Excellent organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control).

Personality traits
- Customer focused and team orientated.
- Strong work ethic and prioritization skills.
- Self motivated, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Detail orientated, organized and works with a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to work in a diverse & dynamic environment.

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Minimum High School of equivalent (mandatory).
- Post Secondary Education (preferred).
- CBSA Education (preferred).

Work experience:

- Operational industry experience (minimum 3 years).

**Working Conditions**

The office and working environment conditions are “general office conditions” with a set work schedule typically Monday to Friday as directed in the FMC Employee Handbook.

Physical Requirements
- Strength Guidelines _
- Maximum weight to be lifted is the weight of box of photocopier paper, which is approximately 10 Kgs.
- If loading out in the field, you may be required to climb on top of cargo or trucks to visualize cargo being loaded and to take photographs.
- Motion Parameters _- You will need to be able to sit at a desk for long hours working with multiple computer screens. You will need to be able to type on a computer keyboard and control a computer mouse for long periods of time. You will be required to walk up and down stairs. You may be required to drive to local locations to drop or collect work related documentation._

Vision, Hearing & Speech Requirements
- You will need to be able to read hard documents and electronic documents.
- You will need to be able to hear clearly.
- You will need to be able to speak English that is clearly understood.
- You will need to verbally communicate via telephone and video calls as and when required.
- Psychological Demands _- You will be required to multitask. You will need to prioritize your work dealing with urgent and pressing issues first. You will be required to interpret data from various source pertaining to your job._
- You will be required to problem solve on shipment that may require. You may be required to speak to clients and vendors in a public setting._

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
