**JOB TITLE: Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator, Birkenstock Canada**

**REPORTS TO: Sr. Director, Merchandising & Planning, Birkenstock Canada**

**OVERVIEW**

This position is primarily responsible for analyzing & forecasting inventory levels required to support sales
and purchasing, including aging inventory, overstock for ATS, cross-division inventory transfers and MRP /
Order book alignment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Maintain a Weekly Available to Sell (ATS) and Available to Promise (ATP)**
- Review In-Season Inventory levels on seasonal products (non-carryover)
- Coordinate with Planning & Business Analyst and propose strategies to avoid aging
inventory
- Review ATP overstock with Planning to align on inventories to be considered for carryover
- Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service on future ATP inventory overstock
- Report Aging inventory levels to Finance on a monthly bases, including moving average
- cost- **Manage Inventory Transfers across channels.**
- Suggest appropriate assortment of overstock from ATS / ATP based on wholesale
requirements
- Communicate with Digital Team to finalize styles and quantities
- Set and Maintain correct costs needed for Delivery & ASN to support systematic transfer

with 3PL
- Enter required Sales Orders / POs needed by 3PL to process transfer
- Coordinate with Operations & Logistics for allocation and communication to 3PL
- **Coordinate with Business Analyst to review weekly MRP Report**.
- Collaborate with Customer Service & Sales team to ensure order book alignment (MRP) by
style and size (oversold, late inventory etc.)
- Review with Business Analyst & Logistics to align against monthly Forecasted outbound
- Highlight opportunities to maximize on allocations

- **Work closely with Sr. Director of Merchandising to recommend correct course of action on**

**excess / shortage inventory**.
o Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service and Operations to implement action plan and
follow through to completion
- **Tracking and maintenance of products with short lifecycles (Shoe Care)**
- Record & Maintain aging inventory per PO receipts
- Communicate inventory levels on predetermined aging schedule to Sales to maximize

lifecycles
- Coordinate with Logistics to ensure scheduled quality check of aging inventory is

performed
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure new inventory arrival in time to replace aging

inventory
- **Management & Tracking of Samples Inventory**
- Manage and distribute Preview Sample Inventory received at Offices
- Manage and distribute Salesman Sample inventory stored at the warehouse, including
excess clearance on a bi-yearly schedule
- Coordinate with Merchandising to ensure correct assortment is inventoried for the

showrooms
- Manage and track all Sample requests sent to accounts, including follow up for return of

stock
- Coordinate with Marketing on image content available when sample inventory is not
- available- **Purchase Order Management Assistance**
- Purchase Order entry in SAP
- Manage Digital Collab PO’s, including Master Data setup and price setting in SAP
- Coordinate with Operations & Import Planner on PO Open Order reports to identify late

styles and determine correct method of transport, including approval from Finance
- Aging PO maintenance, including closing incomplete inbound deliveries
- **Master Data Maintenance**
- New Article Set up as needed
- Maintenance of HTS Codes required for import
- Pricing Updates for Wholesale & MRP, including Price Book trigger to Digital OMS
systems
- Article Master update transmissions to Soften 3PL systems
- **Other Interdepartmental tasks required during peak seasonal times.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years’ experience in an inventory-planning environment.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Ability to use effective questioning techniques to get to the root cause/question as quickly as
- possible in order to understand and resolve issues.- Proven ability to multi-task as well as plan and prioritize workloads, both independently and in a
