**About the Role**:
We are hiring for Summer Jobs and you must be:
1. Below 30 Years of age
2. Permanent Resident / Citizen of Canada
**You will contribute by**:
- While not all of the duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to this position are listed, the following is a paraphrase of the primary functions of this role:
- Develop positive and constructive relationships with sources across a wide range of industries, organizations and regions to bring diverse and well-informed voices into daily reporting
- Participate in editorial discussions and meetings;
- Adapt your own original reporting for multi-platform use including Parvasi Media Group’s broadcast platforms as required
- Perform other duties as required.
**Skills and Experience you will bring**:
- Education in Journalism or equivalent experience
- Minimum of one year experience reporting or equivalent experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic role such as news production
- Strong knowledge of The Canadian Press style guide is essential
- The ability to respond quickly and knowledgeably to breaking news;
- Proven ability to function in both online and broadcast, with the ability to jump from writing breaking news for online to scripted or live content for television and/or radio reports
- Experience with the fast-paced environment of a wire service or comparable digital platform in building a breaking news file is an asset
- Strong news writing and presenting skills, and the ability to quickly pivot between daily stories
- A role model who sets high editorial and ethical standards, and represents best journalistic practices including adherence to journalistic principles and practices as they relate to conduct on social media
- Proven track record of fair, balanced and impartial reporting, along with exemplary communication skills and excellent news judgement
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain creativity in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
- An amazing, can-do attitude
- Ability to work well in a team setting
