**Responsibilities**:
**What You'll Be Doing**
- Be the initial contact to assess, adjudicate and identity occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Manage company Alcohol and Drug Program.
- Manage the Fitness for Work Program.
- Complete all WCB documentation and adhere to submission turnaround time.
- Research, develop and manage proactive programs and initiatives supporting employee health and wellness.
- Develop and deliver basic wellness training and information to various groups.
- Develop and implement strategies that focus on the overall health and wellness of employees that will work towards preventing occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Lead new wellness project planning, implementation, initiatives, communications and launches with a keen eye for detail to achieve company wellness goals.
- Implement and carry out the day to day operations of the Disability Management Program and Alcohol and Drug Program:

- Central liaison/case Advisor for injured employees.
- Managing Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Manage non occupational reporting and claims.
- Ensures all stakeholders are participating in the disability management process.
- Develops and monitors the modified work and return to work plan and makes changes and adaptations as required.
- Ensures that suitable treatment is being provided. Liaison with medical personnel, employees, WCB, service providers (i.e., CBI) and management in the creation and implementation of case specific restricted and return to work plans
- Communication: Ongoing and regular communication with all stakeholders (verbal and in writing) involved in a claim or disability management program. These stakeholders would include: all staff, injured employee, medical providers (physician, physical/occupational/exercise therapists etc.), WCB, North American Construction resources including the injured worker’s/plan member’s supervisors, union (if appropriate), North American Construction Management and Human resources.
- Education: Provide training to both internal and external parties to inform and educate on all aspects of the company’s disability management and Alcohol and Drug program. Internal education is required to provide clarity and direction for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Education to external parties is equally important so that they fully understand the philosophy of North American Constructions disability Management Program and the return to work options available.
- Timely and thorough education of both stakeholder groups should promote correct adjudication and management of claims as well as facilitation of an early, safe and sustainable return to employment.
- Implement and maintain data collection and analysis including but not limited to data classification, verification, surveys and trend analysis.
- Prepare monthly incident and injury statistics reporting and records.
- Ensure corporate data is categorized in accordance with Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS), Worker Compensation Board (WCB) and Client classification guidelines.

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate Degree/Diploma, preferable in Social Sciences, Rehabilitation or related degree.
- Five years disability management/ Rehab experience working with WCB.
- A variety of return to work planning experience working with the construction industry in both union and non-union setting.
