**Job Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Full-Cycle Accounting**:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure accurate coding and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
**Month-End Close**: Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end close activities, including:
- Preparing and posting recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
- Reconciling key balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany accounts).
- Ensuring revenue recognition and expense matching align with IFRS.
- Assisting in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Analyzing variances and providing explanations on significant movements.
- Support year-end close and audit processes.
**Payroll**:Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
**Tax**:Prepare and submit GST/PST/HST returns in compliance with regulations
**Financial Analysis & Reporting**:
- Support the Finance Manager in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or areas for improvement.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and management dashboards.
- Participate in ad hoc projects, including cost analysis, margin analysis, and operational efficiency reviews.
**A/P & A/R Backup Support**:Provide backup coverage for A/P and A/R functions, including:
- Processing supplier invoices, payments, and employee expense reports.
- Assisting with collections and customer account reconciliations.
- Reviewing aging reports and assisting in cash flow management.
**Process Improvement**:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting procedures or systems to support business needs.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or actively working toward CPA completion.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
- Must be proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (Experience with MS Dynamics NAV or Business Central is an asset).
- Proven experience in accounting roles.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and account reconciliation techniques.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
