**Business Development - Fish Tracking**

**Role and Responsibilities**
**Responsibilities**:
- Establish an outbound sales plan for capturing new fish tracking studies primarily relating to recently launched product lines including juvenile fish migration, passage studies, and services.
- Maintain competitive intelligence and develop strategic positioning for Innovasea products and services relative to the competition.
- Build strategic relationships with fish tracking customers, research institutions, environmental agencies, water utilities, and environmental consultants, to build our customer base and increase the market demand for our products and
- Build and develop enduring customer relationships with key accounts and major projects as well as reporting on the status of impactful developing opportunities.
- Work with sales prospects and internal resources to develop and close key sales opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to educate new and existing customers about fish passage monitoring capabilities of the Fish Tracking business unit of Innovasea.
- Travel to customer sites and proactively build and maintain
- Work closely with the customer success, product management, and sales teams to ensure the needs of key customers are flowing smoothly through the main customer touch points of the organization.
- Understand and communicate the organization’s value proposition and processes through presentations and sales consultations.
- Attend scientific conferences, tradeshows, and industry events promoting and selling Innovasea products and services.
- Maintain knowledge of product and services and educate customers on Innovasea solutions.
- Generate quotations for new and existing
- Preparing monthly and quarterly updates that include, but are not limited to, sales opportunities/progress, contracts activity, and the general state of the market.
- Design and implement ongoing client activities, including presentations and demonstrations.
- Implementing best-practices in outbound sales techniques and helping to develop those outbound sales initiatives across the sales department.
**Required Skills and Experience**
- 10+ years of experience in an outbound sales, business development, product management role, or equivalent experience working in a related industry.
- Ability to develop and nurture strong connections with Fish Tracking customers.
- Self-motivated with high energy and enthusiasm for reaching out to customers and achieving market penetration through outbound sales.
- A passion for keeping abreast of and implementing best practices in outbound sales and business development techniques.
- Experience using CRM (Salesforce), ERP (Syspro) and the MS Office suite of tools.
- Knowledge of developing competitor research and market trend analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication (verbal and written), presentation, time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated skills in developing and executing sales strategy plans.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and meeting sales targets.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
**Education**
This role requires a BA/BS degree or equivalent.
**Position and Location**:
This is a full-time position which will be located at Innovasea’s facility in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Travel will be required for this position including both domestic and international destinations.
