Marketing Communications Specialist

We’re looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist who's detail-obsessed, highly organized and a confident communicator. They can explain the 'why' of every project and get buy-in across the board.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing (on-site) and with guidance from the National Marketing Director (remote), the Marketing Communications Specialist will assist in promoting and building the reputation of three of Larco's properties: Hilton Vancouver Airport, Vancouver Airport Marriott and Sheraton Vancouver Airport, and their respective restaurants.

This is an on-site role, supported by our Work Flexibility Program that helps you navigate both professional and personal priorities.

**Hotel Marketing & Advertising**
- Becomes an expert on each property & brand; knowing their offerings and amenities inside and out.
- Collaborates with Operations, F&B, and Sales teams to plan and execute targeted campaigns aimed at both in-house and external guests.
- Serves as the on-site contact for all shoots with local photographers, coordinating and managing photography for F&B advertising, as well as seasonal and festive promotional campaigns.
- Attends and captures content for employee events, as well as community and external events.

**Social Media & Public Relations**
- Plans and implements promotional campaigns for food & beverage, weddings, guest rooms, and events using targeted digital and social media strategies.
- Assists with crafting and content across various social media platforms.
- Manages social media interactions and keeps content fresh across local digital platforms, including the hotel website and travel-related sites.
- Actively monitors the hotel’s online presence, identifying guest feedback on social media platforms and collaborates with the Operations Team as needed to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
- Supports the hotels and restaurants by creating content for social media, including copywriting, photography, and short-form videos (e.g., Reels and Stories)
- Maintains a media and influencer list and vets/coordinates partnerships.

**Direct Marketing & Collateral Creation**
- Manages the creation, printing and distribution of collateral for both hotel-wide and F&B initiatives.
- Assists with the development and placement of all visual displays and signage for F&B and hotel public areas.
- Assists in executing direct marketing efforts to promote the hotel’s F&B offerings.

**What you'll offer us**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in digital media, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on marketing experience, ideally in hotels and/or restaurants.
- Exceptional graphic design skills in Canva.
- Expertise in creating and editing short-form videos (e.g., Reels, TikToks, etc.).
- Strong writing and communication skills with an eye for accuracy and detail.
- Experience with Mailchimp is an asset.
- Flexibility for night and weekend work when necessary (on-site special events, etc.).
- Must be organized and thrive managing multiple projects at once.
- Openness to constructive feedback and coaching.
- Great sense of accountability with strong execution skills.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude are a must.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Marketing: 3 years (preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
