In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

Job Summary
Organizational Status
Work Performed- Identifies funding opportunities from various Canadian and international agencies. Evaluates, monitors, and disseminates information to faculty members.- Organizes team meetings to discuss proposals, determine internal UBC and funder timelines, ensure faculty members are aware of deadlines, UBC policy requirements, human ethics, biohazard, and other requirements.- Interprets relevant regulations and requirements and provides guidance and consultation to faculty.- Reviews budgets proposed by researchers and amends for accuracy and adherence to agency guidelines.- Reviews grant requirements and contributes to writing and editing of scientific sections.- Develops, implements, and maintains procedures, systems, and processes for research file management.- Liaises with the UBC Office of Research Services and Research Ethics Boards to ensure that approvals are obtained, ethical reviews are submitted, and issues are resolved.- For successful proposals, arrange meeting coordination and follow-up, assist with inter-institutional agreements, statement of work documents, compliance documents.- Manages budgets, initiates fund transfers as appropriate.- Tracks project expenditures, milestones, deadlines and objectives.- Organizes project team meetings.- Oversees the planning and organization of special research events, seminars, retreats, workshops, courses, and symposia as requested.- Coordinate research progress and close-out reports including financial and metrics reporting.- Contributes to scientific presentations, and edits abstracts for readability and consistency.- Support manuscript preparation and submission.- Assist in the recruitment and hire of project related faculty, staff, and students.- Recommend process improvements and strategies for strengthening project management methods.- Performs other related duties as required.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Work is carried out under the portfolio of the Director; priorities and completion of tasks are determined accordingly. Resolution of errors is the responsibility of the Grant Facilitator in coordination with the Director. Inaccurate work may result in a loss of research funding dollars. Delays in work completion may hinder research project timelines. Confidential material regarding human resources must be treated with great tact and discretion.
Poor judgement, errors in preparing documents, or inappropriate management of confidential information could have an adverse effect on the faculty members, department and/or University.
Supervision Received
Works independently with considerable latitude. The Grant Facilitator is expected to use a high level of initiative. Must possess a considerable amount of judgement in managing workload demands in order to meet multiple deadlines. Must exercise judgment in duties and responsibilities and in identifying unusual matters that require consultation, further investigation, etc. before taking action.

Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
