**Job Duties**
- Prepare, process and reconcile full cycle payroll for about 800-900 Ontario hourly and salaried staff using ADP Workforce Now payroll system, ensuring compliance with company and federal and provincial regulations and guidelines
- Payroll information management by reconciling staff payroll to scheduling system reports; checking calculations noting errors and the causes of any miscalculations
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings and deductions. Prepare and submit journal entries and complete government forms. Reconcile payments made to employees, i.e. vacation pay, expense reimbursement etc.
- Process periodic commissions, vacation pay and bonus payments. Calculate and reconcile employee deductions and payments to taxation authorities
- Balance bi-weekly payroll and assist in preparation of monthly financials / dashboards. Update payroll information status on employee files on a timely basis
- Year-end payroll processing & T4 generation and process periodic ROE’s as required. Provide assistance with payroll information for year-end audit and government reconciliations
- Publish annual payroll calendar and assist with testing payroll platform upgrades. Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements.

**Job Requirements**
- Designation as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager required
- Minimum 3 years hands on payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with large hourly and salaried payroll.
- Knowledge of WorkforceNow (ADP) - an asset
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs in particular
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- High level of critical and logical reasoning to identify underlying reasons or facts to solve payroll issues
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Good organizational, time management and task prioritizing skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Proven track record of managing confidentiality with a high level of personal integrity
- Self starter and a strong work ethic
- Confident, consistent, decisive personality

**Work Conditions**
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
