Reporting to the Manager, Talent Development, the Learning and Development Representative is the front-line customer service to employees, leaders and the public who visit the Human Resources department. The Learning and Development Representative is responsible for providing administrative support, maintaining and coordinating training opportunities provided by the Municipality. The Learning and Development Representative will maintain training databases, including but not limited to Excel, Employee Central, SAP and Oracle.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provides exceptional customer service to internal employees and external facilitators via phone and through the Corporate Training shared Microsoft Outlook inbox, responding to queries with in-depth understanding of all current and past learning and development opportunities.
- Acts as the first point of in person contact for the Human Resources department in the main reception area and provides administrative support to visitors attending training and interviews, receiving courier packages and contacting the appropriate HR team members should questions require further attention.
- Escalates requests to Learning &Development Generalists, Specialists and/or Manager when necessary.
- Support the administration of the Learning & Development Policy in relation to the Education Reimbursement Program.
- Communicates and/or distributes updated training materials to appropriate end users, process owners, and Key Partners.
- Maintains training databases, including entering information into spreadsheets and completes regular auditing and reporting to ensure accuracy and appropriate records keeping.
- Maintains the Training Calendar on the internal SharePoint website.
- Maintains the physical training space and submits service requests as needed for repairs/upkeep.
- Creates course rosters through the established registration process and supplies it to facilitators.
- Upholds the confidentiality of training records and tracking systems.
- In partnership with HRM’s print center, maintains consumable training supplies (ongoing training materials and other training supplies)
- Gathers training attendance and other training related documents from facilitators and participants after sessions.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education & Experience**:
- Diploma in Business Administration or related field
- Two (2) years related experience.
- Demonstrated experience with computer-related software (i.e., Microsoft Suite - including Microsoft Excel, SAP, etc.)
- Experience coordinating events in a corporate setting.
- Demonstrated experience in accurate record keeping.
**Technical / Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Strong organizational skills through planning, scheduling, prioritizing, executing daily tasks and record keeping.
- Strong verbal and written communication with a wide variety of audiences
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize duties during periods of high volume and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of the public sector (ideally, municipal government)
- Knowledge of Municipal operations is an asset.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
**Security Clearance Requirements**: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.

**WORK STATUS**: Permanent, Full-time
**HOURS OF WORK**: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; 35 hours per week.
**SALARY**: Non Union; NU02 $47,760 - $56,189
**WORK LOCATION**: 8th floor, Purdy's Tower II, 1969 Upper Water Street, Halifax. Work location can be changed according to operational requirements.
