**Position Overview**

The **Purchaser **will be responsible for procuring raw materials, services, supplies, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner. The individual should proactively partner and collaborate with all business departments providing guidance on time required to obtain products or services, while establishing strategic relationships with vendors.

**Job duties**
- Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services as required.
- Source new vendors and develop a preferred vendor system.
- Monitor purchase orders daily and establish weekly delivery schedules working closely with Project Management and Production to meet daily requirements.
- Actively communicate with all business departments in the event of backorders and/or delay in deliveries.
- Work with BOM Coordinator to evaluate and purchase stock parts so minimum inventory levels are met.
- Expedite and coordinate with Inventory and Production any quality and/or non-conformance issues.
- Leverage the ERP system (Spire) and Microsoft Office tools to enter data, placing purchase orders and set delivery schedules.
- Coordinate and arrange with Account Payables any payment required to suppliers.
- Introduce process improvements related to procurement and identify cost saving opportunities.
- Follow Marketing Impact’s purchasing policy and ensure all practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- 4+ years of purchasing experience.
- 2+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of injection molding / extrusion processes and ability to read mechanical drawings is a strong asset.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong team player that can build relationships with sales, shipping and receiving, production, designers, and suppliers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Ability to address things quickly with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills; Knowledge of Spire system an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
- Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation or registration in the educational program of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada is an asset.
