**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Sanitation Duties**:
- Supervise and coordinate the sanitation team during the afternoon shift, ensuring all equipment, surfaces, and production areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established protocols and schedules.
- Verify and record the sanitation tasks have been performed as per SOPs by the sanitation team and physically inspect their work.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems and manual cleaning processes, ensuring effective cleaning of production lines, tanks, and other equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and address any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Manage the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals, adhering to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and company safety guidelines.
- Train team members on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and chemical usage.
- Prepare reports on sanitation performance and compliance and recommend improvements where necessary.
**Production Duties**:
- Oversee and manage production operations during the afternoon shift, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and on schedule.
- Coordinate with production teams to plan and execute daily production schedules, ensuring alignment with sanitation activities to minimize downtime.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Lead, train, and support the production team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to promote growth and development.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in both production and sanitation activities, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve any issues that arise during the shift.
**General Responsibilities**:
- Ensure all sanitation and production activities comply with food safety regulations, such as GMP, CFIA, SQF, or other relevant standards.
- Enforce safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Serve as the point of contact between the afternoon shift and other shifts or departments, ensuring smooth handovers and continuity of operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding operational status, issues, and achievements.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the food industry with roles in both sanitation and production, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards, cleaning and sanitization procedures, and production processes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions (e.g., wet, hot, cold environments).
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in food science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Sanitation, food safety, HACCP, or relevant production certifications are highly desirable.
**Working Conditions**:
- The role involves working in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to food allergens and cleaning chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided for safety.
- The shift hours are from 4:00 PM - 12:00 PM (8hours) or 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM (10hours), with the potential need for flexibility to meet operational requirements.
- Availability to work on a 7-day schedule and be on-call as needed for operational emergencies or special projects.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
