**Overview**:
This role provides essential support for research activities by performing routine and well-defined tasks in a structured environment. Guided by clear procedures and instructions, you’ll help ensure research projects run smoothly and accurately. Work is carried out under the close guidance of a Research Associate or senior researcher, offering opportunities to learn and develop skills in a supportive, collaborative setting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform a range of administrative and operational duties in support of laboratory and research activities.
- Maintain accurate records, manage documents, and update laboratory manuals as required.
- Organize and schedule meetings, interviews, focus groups, and other research-related events.
- Provide basic information to clients or research participants, responding to general inquiries such as scheduling details and directions.
- Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment (e.g., photocopiers, printers), coordinating repairs as necessary.
- Support laboratory operations by cleaning and organizing workspaces, performing basic equipment maintenance, and sterilizing or storing glassware and instruments.
- Assist with routine data collection and preparation tasks, including sampling, sorting, and identification.
- Assist with day-to-day activities in the Community Ecology and Energetics lab with a focus on preparation and interpretation of fish ageing structures

**Qualifications**:
Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education.
