The qualified and formally trained HACCP Coordinator/SQF Practitioner will provide coordination, leadership in implementation of SQF level 2 code, maintenance of the program, and record-keeping for Fresh Start Foods plant(s). HACCP Coordinator/SQF Practitioner will also develop and continuously improve the HACCP system in order to produce a high quality, safe food and also to comply with regulatory requirements and SQF standards. The practitioner will ensure plans, procedures, and processes are implemented according to the SQF level 2 code.
Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary Contract

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, verify and validate HACCP systems and prerequisite programs to meet SQF standards.
- Evaluate food safety concerns in the facility and implement a program in place to eliminate food safety hazards.
- Perform CCP record verification and CCP operator verification.
- Conduct CCP and pre requisite training.
- Participate in Food Safety Meetings.
- Develop and implement SOP to support production, update or create SOPs, WI as necessary from HACCP reassessment or program changes.
- Conduct internal audits. Manage corrective actions
- Ensure that the facility and food safety and quality program are in compliance with SQF standards.
- Collaborate with Production, QA Manager and QA Technologists to develop and implement HACCP systems that comply with regulatory requirements and SQF standards in order to produce high quality and safe food.
- Perform mock recalls.

QUALIFICATIONS
Technical skills:

- Bachelor of Science degree or diploma (food science or related field)
- At least 2 years experience in Quality Management and Food Safety within the food industry.
- Previous HACCP experience is required.
- Previous SQF experience is an asset and preferred.
- SQF certification is required

Personal skills:

- Possesses excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
- Time flexibility
