**Job Summary**
Quality Assurance Tech - Food Production Plant
**About Us**:
We are a federally inspected food production facility committed to producing high-quality, safe, and compliant products. Our facility follows rigorous CFIA regulations and holds SQF certification, ensuring excellence in food safety and quality systems.
**Position Summary**:
**Responsibilities and Duties**
The responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements, food safety programs and finished product specifications
- Develop, review and strengthen Food Safety and Quality Program
- Develop/Maintain procedures and documentations to meet requirements
- Assist in the HACCP plan and prerequisites program and adheres to food safety and quality programs and standards Report non-compliance and takes corrective actions to assure compliance to all quality and food safety requirements on a daily basis.
- Assist in regulatory audit, supplier audit and third party audit
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training for production staff
- Conduct post-operation inspection to ensure cleaning standards comply with written program
- Coordinate with related contractors for equipment annual calibration and finished product testing
- Assists with: o Complaints investigations o Incidents investigations o Corrective actions coordination o Non-conforming products handling
- Any other assigned duties
**Qualifications and Skills**
Qualifications:
- Possession of Diploma or University Degree in Food Science or Nutrition Science is a strong asset
- At least 2 years experience working in food industry as a QA/QC is a strong asset
- Previous experience with HACCP and pre-requisite program
- Experience with working in a Federally Inspected Plant
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.)
- Fluent in written and verbal English; **Detail-oriented and organized**:
- Good problem solving skills; with an analytical and critical thinking mind
- Excellent communication skills
- Perform chemical and microbiological testing when required
- 50% of time on the floor and 50% of time on supporting data trending and HACCP projects.
- Conduct employee training on GMP, HACCP or as required.
- Full-time position: Monday to Friday between 8:00am - 6pm
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
