Metalworks Institute is the educational branch of Metalworks, we are a sister company to the world-famous Metalworks Studios (recording studio) and Metalworks Production Group (live event production) and emerging tech start-up SoundsUnite (app-based music education). Metalworks has been a pillar of the Canadian music scene for almost 50 years.

As an Outreach Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in connecting Metalworks Institute with high schools and community organizations, fostering relationships with SHSM coordinators and music teachers supporting meaningful outreach initiatives that inspire the next generation of music industry professionals.

This role requires excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to managing logistics. From scheduling and hosting high school group visits to organizing hands-on workshops and overseeing our presence at high school fairs, the Outreach Coordinator ensures that every interaction with Metalworks Institute is seamless and impactful. A love for music and a passion for education are essential, while prior experience in event coordination or community engagement would be an asset. The Outreach Coordinator is based on-site at Metalworks Institute and works collaboratively with our team to bring music education to life for students and educators alike.

At the core of the role, the Outreach Coordinator will help with:

- **Building and maintaining relationships** with high school teachers (SHSM and Music Teachers) and representatives from community organizations.
- **Coordinating inbound high school group visits,** including scheduling, preparing facilities, organizing staff availability, and ensuring a smooth experience.
- **Planning and organizing student workshops,** working with internal teams to secure resources and align schedules.
- **Managing logistics for high school fairs,** including outreach planning, booth setup, and coordinating team participation.
- **Providing timely follow-ups** with educators and participants to strengthen connections and gather feedback.
- **Collaborating with the Metalworks team** to enhance and grow outreach initiatives that support the institute’s mission.
- **Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills** to connect effectively with educators, community representatives, and students.
- **Excellent organizational and time management abilities** to coordinate multiple events and activities simultaneously.
- **Clear and professional communication skills,** both written and verbal, to represent Metalworks Institute in a polished and engaging manner.
- **Adaptability and problem-solving skills** to navigate the dynamic nature of outreach activities and respond to shifting priorities.
- **A passion for music and education,** with a genuine interest in inspiring future music industry professionals.
- **Event planning or logistics coordination experience,** with attention to detail and follow-through.
- **Proficiency with technology,** including scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and communication platforms in the Microsoft Office 365 environment.
- **Flexibility**, including the ability to work evenings/weekends as required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
